Trio Dios Mio

Am that I
in love am I
always will be on high
so was I

You that Are
a Sun the star
You will die yet not part
You were heart

She that Is
to bathe and bless
She will guide faithfulness
She was rest

I that Am
You that came
She will stay
Three the same

Today’s challenge is to write a poem that plays with voice. For example, you might try writing a stanza that recounts something in the first-person, followed by a stanza recounting the same incident in the second-person, followed by a stanza that treats the incident from a third-person point of view. Or you might try a poem in the form of a dialogue, which necessarily has two “I” speakers, addressing two “you”s.

Mine took a different twist. I thought I was composing from three different voices but in rereading the poem it all seems to be from one, which makes sense I guess, as I decided to compose this one in honor of yesterday’s Christian holiday of Easter.

I also played with the present, past and future of each “voice” with the hope of bringing eternity to play.
