Pacific Grove Morning Run

Ripples reflecting golden ray glows
Pacific sunrise where a sunset should be
Sand crabs in crevasse, green moss undertows
Fisherman casting silhouette on the sea
Paired seagulls sun on a burnt orange rock
Wave’s curl crash spilling spray in the air
Nod of a head a good morning crosstalk
Pride of Madeira sweet purple flare
Pelicans ride on the wind as it blows
Pitter pat sand raining footsteps below
Salt on my lips, on my face, in my nose
I miss my cat in my bed back at home

Day 11 NaPoWriMo challenge is to write a poem in which you closely describe an object or place, and then end with a much more abstract line that doesn’t seemingly have anything to do with that object or place, but which, of course, really does.
