Poetic Justice

Good morning, Poem, what words of wisdom have you to say?
What insights to my insides will you bring to light today?
Will words flow recklessly like water from my pen?
Or will you block my brain and stump my trusty hand again?

Good day, my Poem, my writing of this mid-April spring day
Remember, you are only one of thirty others on the way
If you have secrets, words or clues you would like to share
Don’t estimate you’re over what I do or do not dare

Good luck, my Poem, well wishes for the story you portray
Ideas, thoughts and memories intended to betray
For last I have the veto, and last I hold the rule
To edit any errant thought that makes me look a fool

The prompt for Day 15 of the NaPoWriMo Challenge is to write a poem that addresses itself or some aspect of its self (i.e. “Dear Poem,” or “what are my quatrains up to?”; “Couplet, come with me . . .”)
