Wild Nights

Wild nights, rippled lights
Gusts upon the air
Shooting stars shining bright
Wild make this night with thee

Wild nights, fight or flight
Sink below the stairs
Rock and roll to wave’s delight
Wild be our luxury

Futile screams the wind and waves
That drown the beat of heart
Glass be poured in velvet port
Done with the tidal chart

Below deck sexton party raves
Done be the Compass ties
Guided by our own star north
Wild be our final cries

Rowing low in moon sung rays
Eden sighs release
Ah, at last the sea portrays
That I might moor in peace

Today’s NaPoWriMo prompt: Find an Emily Dickinson poem and take out all the dashes and line breaks. Make it just one big block of prose. Now, rebreak the lines. Add words where you want. Take out some words. Make your own poem out of it! The Dickinson poem that I started with was Wild Nights-Wild Nights
